I’ve been thinking about styling an eerie, elegant outdoor tablescape for a while now and as I was walking through my front yard this past weekend, I was intrigued by some dark fall leaves, still alive and thriving on their branch. I immediately picked an armful and brought them inside. After brainstorming for a few hours, I styled this elegant, rustic tablescape.
My favorite aspect of this tablescape is the juxtaposition of nature and elegance. The [dead] black-eyed susan flower heads, deer antlers, applewood slices and leaves, paired with wine glasses, a silver wine cooler, and iron candle holders.
Here are some of the table details:
The black plates are a thrift store find from several years ago, and this is the first time I’ve ever “used” them. The dark gray votive holders are from Ikea. The antlers all belong to my friend Wendy (she either purchased them at yard sales or found them in the woods – did you know that deer shed their antlers yearly?). My silver wine cooler is a favorite Unique thrift store purchase. I found the leaves and black-eyed susan flower heads in my yard. The gold and white napkins are from Target, and the white tablecloth is Rachel Ashwell.
And last but not least, I shot these photos using my friend’s Nikon D300 (I want one so so badly). Thanks, Robert!
Hope you’re inspired by this tablescape!
till tomorrow,
Rebecca

Wow, I love this! The antlers are by far my favorite aspect (I grew up with hunters) and you styled everything so beautifully. A gorgeous table for a lovely autumn evening meal.

Love the coasters! Two thumbs up! 🙂
i love the details, the leaf place tags! your spread reminds me of a tim-burton-themed wedding i saw on a photo blog. dark enough to be a little creepy, but really harmless and whimsical. you made it versatile too… if someone liked the ideas and wanted to make it less creepy a few flowers would instantly change the feel to vintagey.
beautiful!! lovely details and the pictures came out great 🙂
Wow, all the detailing that went into this! Very lovely! Specially love the wax falling into the table from the candle holders. Give it that extra erie vibe.

This is so gorgeous! I love the use of the dead black-eyed susans and the antlers and the color palette is divine. It's simple, modern and extremely chic 🙂
