Since being pregnant, I’ve become a morning person. Partially because I felt sick every evening the first 2/3 of the pregnancy, and recently, because I’ve been hit with a new wave of exhaustion in the evenings which means I’m up when it’s light out.
Breakfast and morning tea have become must-haves (my two current favorites are Lady Grey and Roiboos). This time in the morning has become so cherished, whether I’m with Joe or all alone at our little folding table.
Since being at my mom’s this week, I’ve been up before everyone else in the house. I’ve steeped my cup of tea, cooked my hot oats, and just enjoyed those quiet moments at the kitchen table. It almost feels as though I never moved out of my mom’s…I wonder mom’s will ever stop feeling like home?

Never! My parents house still feels like home, even though I haven't lived there for years, and my old bedroom has long since been transformed into an office:)
Yes, my parents moved when I was in my late 20's. It's never been quite the same….

Never, even though I've been living thousands of miles away for years now. I guess I go back for weeks at a time though when I go back, so it let's me reconnect with it despite all the time and distance that tends to accumulate between visits.
Never, although I haven't lived in it for years and years . Hopefully it will always be home for me
I agree. I think your parent's house will always feel like home, no matter how old you are!

For me, it took a few years but slowly and surely my new house became "home" and my mom's felt more and more like "hers"- I couldn't have imagined it at first, that my small, still-in-the-making townhouse could be "home" in the same, most comfortable and relaxed sense. now i'm so glad it is 🙂
Nope – mum's home has always felt like home. I moved out twice for work and have been back at the family home for a bit over a year now. It's always been the most home to me.
So nice to read this. I can relate to enjoying the quiet moments at your mum's. Enjoy x
This post was precious. It really blessed me. I am soaking up the last few months of living in my mum's and dad's house. I love steeping a hot cup of Roiboos and sitting in our window seat in the kitchen. 🙂 Your blog is so lovely. Quite the inspiration!
